Divorce, Separation, and Stupidity

Lately several people I know have been dealing with divorce or separation. It's unfortunate that people can't get along, and the relationship has to end. It's sad sometimes, but in some situations it's a relief. The relationship has never been what it should, and both sides are only torturing each other. But people often turn stupid during these times, and their kids get hurt. Sometimes it's both sides being stupid, and dragging their kids through hell and uncertainty. Sometimes it's just one side.
But the ultimate disbelief came to light for me, when my dear friend called me yesterday upset, because her ex-husband called her and told her he didn't want to see their kids anymore. Part of me was absolutely flabbergasted. The other part, knowing this person, wasn't completely surprised.
How on earth is this mother supposed to tell her two young boys, one seven, one four, that their father doesn't want to see them anymore? My heart is just breaking for my friend and her kids! After months of fighting with her ex for custody, and all the other standard issues that must be addressed during a divorce, now he doesnt' want them anymore!
And his reasons? They chase the dog around, and the littlest caught a fish and squeezed it to death. He's four! He has no concept of death! He doesn't understand that squeezing a living creature might hurt it! And of course his new wife blames my friend. Her husband, their father has no part in raising the children. He is blameless in his own eyes and that of the new wife's. Ridiculous!

I really wish I could do something fix it. Those two little boys, are going to hurt so much, and their mother is just aching for them. Pray for the single parents out there who have to care for their children, and carry them through the hard times, and bad news. They need the support.

Randoms Rules to Live By

1. If you have to tie your Spoiler on with twine, it's time to ditch the thing. You and your car just look dumb. I saw this scenerio just last night when leaving work. The spoiler wasn't even standing upright. It was laying down across the trunk! I realise that many people may not have money for the repair, but tying it with twine is not a good idea. I can just imagine what would happen if the string broke while the car was flying down the freeway at 65. NOT GOOD.

( I will update this list periodically. )
